{"id":859,"date":"2010-06-26T06:28:02","date_gmt":"2010-06-26T06:28:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ride4acure.com.au\/?p=859"},"modified":"2010-06-26T06:28:02","modified_gmt":"2010-06-26T06:28:02","slug":"25th-june-2010-into-boort-and-beyond","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/ride4acure.com.au\/?p=859","title":{"rendered":"25th June 2010: Into Boort and beyond!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ride4acure.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/Boort-main-street.JPG\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I woke at 4am listening to the rain falling thinking about the day ahead , not wishing the rain away as I knew how much it\u2019s needed, simply acknowledging that it adds a degree of discomfort to both the horses and my day feeling \u2018soggy and cold\u2019 whilst riding, mud sticking to everything, sliding around each time I\u2019m on the ground\u2026..but crops and pastures need it so who\u2019s complaining?<\/p>\n<p>I stayed with the Walsh Family at Boort, Di and her daughter Heide had ridden out to meet me on Thursday and Di\u00a0 had organised some fundraising for ride4acure and in total Boort raised just over $300 in donations which is awesome.\u00a0 The horses were at Coopers on the edge of Boort about 6kms out of town and I went with Di to her place for the night for a dinner and we had a hoot of a night, great meal, lots of laughs and much story telling.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Friday morning Di\u2019s daughters Heidi and Mia (who are also Charlton Pony Club members) rode with me into Boort through the main street<a href=\"http:\/\/ride4acure.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/Boort-main-street.JPG\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Boort main street\" src=\"http:\/\/ride4acure.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/Boort-main-street-150x112.jpg\" alt=\"Boort main street\" width=\"150\" height=\"112\" \/><\/a> (we were met by Mia\u2019s friend Ellie on her pony on the edge of town) and on past the primary school where in the rain we waved to the kids in class, then onto the Boort Secondary College where the students and some teachers, braved the wet with umbrella\u2019s to come down and meet the horses and say G\u2019day.\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/ride4acure.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/Boort-Secondary-College-in-the-rain.JPG\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-thumbnail wp-image-862\" title=\"Boort Secondary College in the rain!\" src=\"http:\/\/ride4acure.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/Boort-Secondary-College-in-the-rain-150x112.jpg\" alt=\"Boort Secondary College in the rain!\" width=\"150\" height=\"112\" \/><\/a>After we finished at the school Amanda who had also ridden with me for the last leg to Coopers on Thursday night had prepared a lovely morning tea in a shed at the show grounds which was delicious and warm!
