Loved the blog update Esther! Good to actually see your face out of all those layers.

You are a natural with the camera and of course with people (wonder where you got that from??). I like the way you shared your reflection on what you are doing and why you are doing it and where you are going to get your energy from. Keep thinking up insights like that one and you will capture your audience and get the message across. Its a simple message and one straight from the heart.

I don’t think we realise how much we draw from others and what we give back as inspiration in return. You now have that gift of ‘inner sight’.

It took Mark quite a while to come to that understanding. Even in hospital after spinal surgery to insert Harrington Rods and screw them into his spine, the time in intensive care, on life support, morphine and other big gun drugs, he continued to inspire the staff as a 13 yr old. They kept asking him how he dealt with the extraordinary pain throughout all those weeks. He simply said that the only way through it was to ‘make the pain his friend’.

I have no idea how he came to that thought – it took all my energy to keep up with his daily inspiring goals he set for himself for months… breath off the ventilator, sit unaided, walk to the door, walk down the corridor and touch that window (what THAT window??), lay IN the water, get out of the wheel chair, sip a chocolate milkshake at Lou’s, nibble a crumbed chicken leg on the SWR headland, walk barefoot in the sand at Arakoon, dive in the water, swim, train and get fit again to represent Australia and bring home a medal at the 2000 Paralympics.

Inspiration delivers energy. Energy that others need. Energy that returns to you in twofold.

    Inspire people Esther.

Draw on that energy surrounding you.

We don’t know what we are capable of – we don’t know how extraordinary we can be until we have to face the unthinkable as you all have done. Hats off to you sweetie.

Keep a reflection or two in your mind on the trail for the next video blog!

    Hugs and blessing all around
    Lesleigh
