How do you get to Melbourne? - One step at a time!

How do you get to Melbourne? - One step at a time!

Firstly again thank you to all the big hearted, wonderful, generous people who helped make ride4acure so successful in 2009. 2010 is shaping up to be even more awesome.  In a nutshell 2010 is about things that were very close to Hannah’s heart….. Horses, cattle, community and fun! ride4acure aims to embrace all of that and more!

To kick off the year I am with my horse crew, doing a long distant event for ride4acure in 2010 .  A Horse Trek from 18th April to 4th July 2010, riding solo  with three of my horses ‘Wrangler’  (saddle horse), ‘Billy’ (pack horse) and ‘Meg’ (spare saddle horse), following Travelling Stock Routes (TSR’s)  through NSW and into Western Victoria this is over 1800kms. In addition to the trek I will again be visiting schools with the multi-media presentation “Mela-What?” that I created,  to promote sunsafety and skin cancer awareness to young Australians in rural and regional communities.  I am hoping to visit 31 schools en route and I am encouraging schools to fundraise for ride4acure-Hannah Rose Melanoma Research Fund.  The goal of reaching $150 000  by end of September 2010,  is becoming a reality as we’re nearly a third of the way there as of New Years Eve 2009 with over $44 000 raised in a few short months.  Donations can be made online, direct debit or by cheque. For details see donation link on right of page.

I will be looking for ‘friends’ along the way! so  please send me an email if you’d like to help out!   As I will be solo without a road backup crew. Watch this space!
