In March this year Turn, Burn and Earn Barrel racing commenced a barrel racing series in memory of fellow barrel racer & young friend, Hannah Rose Luxford.

Turn, Burn and Earn series organisers, Teresa Jones and Lisa Cannell remember Hannah and her handy yellow mare ‘Lena’.  “They were really starting to become competitive in our barrel racing group.  Hannah was a lovely and brave young girl who we all miss, and felt that this was the best way we can honour her memory.

The series is currently running, with 9 Rounds of 3D Barrel Racing for Novice horses and 2 Junior Age Divisions. Ride Tuff Buckles will be awarded to each Divisional Winner with a Ride Tuff Trophy Barrel Racing Saddle awarded to the winner of the 1st Division.

Already, around 100 horses have competed in Rounds run at Bacchus Marsh, Anna & Garry McPhee’s Arena in Lurg, and Chiltern Rodeo Grounds.  Competition has been fierce and with only three rounds to go the race is on for the buckles and the saddle. The series will finish on July 4^th at Bacchus Marsh Recreation Reserve. A presentation day will follow with a date yet to be confirmed.

In addition to the barrel racing series Turn Burn and Earn have been selling ‘Hannah Rose” Saddle Series t-shirts. A portion of the money raised from sales, will be donated to ‘Ride for a cure’.
